ABOUT Me

Val Magarian is a California based exhibiting visual artist now launching a new career as Storyboard Artist for film and television.

Her work as an animator include directing and animating Elizabeth Sees, which received numerous awards and was made possible with grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and Ontario Arts Council. Val holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has worked long term as an educator at the Guggenheim Museum and Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Why storyboarding? Val has always been fascinated by storytelling and characters. Her paintings focus on the subtleties of gestures and movements, and continually play between storytelling and mystery. If you are looking for a storyboarder, know that Val also enjoys writing, working on a team and is very comfortable reworking ideas.
